UTAH STATE SENATE PASSES ANTI- BCS MEASURE
The measure requires a playoff system to be created to determine the college football's national champion. This is in response to the University of Utah Utes being denied a chance to compete for the championship despite having the only undefeated record in college football.

If you want to read the bill follow this link, the one in the story does not work:

About the resolution:
Good effort UTAH State Legislature! You're giving it the old college try and doing what you can without taking a risk! But now what? If you are serious and want this measure to be more than legislative bloviating, do more than send a copy of the bill to the Utah Congressional Delegation, which by the way will be filed away by an intern and forgotten, rally your constituents! Call on your 5 member delegation to support federal initiatives like HR 599, or to participate in Rep. Edolphus Towns soon to come committee hearings.

Other points made in the article:
Saying the new contract between the BCS and ESPN will make a change unlikely is ignorant.
  1. If the BCS were dissolved the contract will be dissolved as well.
  2. ESPN would be more than happy to adjust the contract to televise the tournament that would arguably replace the BCS. More games = more commercial space = more $$$$

Our NEMESES, John Swofford, BCS coordinator, says the BCS is compliant with federal law. Lets test that theory!!! Add your voice to Fans For Change by making a donation and make something happen to the BCS instead of it happening to us.

  1. The only effective way for fans to force the NCAA to organize a true and fair FBS National Championship is to put their money behind this effort!
